(Quick links to our topics below) Why you should travel with your grandparents… How you should go about it… The things you will do… The things you will learn... __________________________________________ Dear Grands, We know you love your grandparents but have you ever thought about taking a great trip with them without your parents along? Why you should travel with your grandparents… At GRANDTRAVEL we believe that grandparents and grandchildren make great travel companions and so we organize vacations that go to places grandparents and grandchildren like to visit together and fill them with activities you can both do and really enjoy (horseback riding, river rafting, you know) … keep reading Remember, we and your grandparents think you are old enough to travel without your parents. We know it is great fun to spend timer together and to get to know each other better. Believe me, you will learn things you never knew about your grandparents! And they, in turn, will learn more about you—what sports you are good at, what kind of books you like to read, who your friends are, who your least favorite teacher is, what you love to eat… Really, have you been able to sit down and have a long chat with your grandmother or grandfather recently? How much time did you have to talk privately with your grandparents last Thanksgiving, for example? How you should go about it… (Back to Top) The first step: look through our catalog or our web site, choose a destination that interests you and call your grandparents with your idea to travel with them on a GRANDTRAVEL summer vacation. Once everyone agrees that your idea is a good one, go for it! Check it out with your parents and make sure your schedules fit the tour dates and then ask your grandparents to call us to make the reservation. Next step: You head out on the GRANDTRAVEL tour of your dreams! On tour the fun really starts because there are other kids your age. You don’t have to eat anything you don’t like; there’s lot of food to choose from; there’s time for challenging games, contests, music and discussions organized by your GRANDTRAVEL Activity Director. Wherever possible, we take time in the hotel swimming pool, and there is even time for you to relax in your fantastic hotel room with your i-pod or favorite book. The things you will do… (Back to Top) Helicoptering over a volcanic crater and landing on glaciers in Alaska, making carnival masks in Venice, becoming a king or queen during a theatrical make-up session at the Theater Museum in London, floating above the African plains in a hot air balloon with elephants , lions and giraffes below, or rolling down a huge inflatable balloon called a ZORB in New Zealand, while still having time for card games with friends, are among the things you will tell everyone about when you return home from your GRANDTRAVEL vacation. The things you will learn... (Back to Top) Some of the things you will learn about your grandparents include what it was like when they were your age, what their grandparents were like, where they lived, went to school and the places they’ve traveled. You may even hear tales about when your parents got in trouble as children! And the things they will learn about you will be just the things you want to tell them. Talk to your parents, aunts, uncles, teachers or adult mentors about your idea to travel with your grandparents without your parents and tell them to feel free to call us for answers if you have any questions. You can also ask your parents for permission to call us directly! We’d love to hear from you. Travel Resources for grandchildren of all ages...
